About Us

Nancy has always been an artist – pen and ink and watercolor were favorite mediums.  Working from magazine photos was her preferred method.  When she wanted to draw or paint her pets (let’s face it, ferrets don’t stay very still unless they are sleeping), she realized she would first have to take their photos.  After an exhausting trip to the flea market, she was set with a used Canon camera and a couple lenses.  Very quickly she realized just how artistic photography can be, and set about to teach herself all about it.  Dozens of books and thousands of rolls of film later, she could then call herself a professional.

As a member of Professional Photographers of America, she devours the information and training they provide.  If there is one sure thing in life, it is change, and she refuses to be left behind.  She has attended seminars, workshops, webinars, and tries to attend Imaging USA every other year when possible.

You are in capable and caring hands during your photo shoot with Nancy.  She knows all about being shy and reserved in front of the camera, and goes out of her way to bring you out of your shell.  You’ve never liked yourself in any photos before?  Fear not!  With proper posing, angles, and a few corny jokes – you will look at your images in the back of the camera and be amazed at just how GOOD you look!  That is legit how gorgeous you are!  Nancy brings out your brilliant and vibrant self and captures it on camera – and there is (as of yet) no way to photoshop images straight in the camera, so there is no tricky business there.
** something to think about – maybe one of the reasons you don’t like yourself in photos is because you are used to looking at yourself in a mirror.  Your face is not likely to be perfectly symmetrical, so your photos show you quite differently than the mirror does **

Random facts about Nancy:

I have been a vegetarian since 1999.  I don’t miss meat one bit.

I have been practicing Taekwon-do since 1993, and it is something I enjoy greatly.  This, and my striving to incorporate it into everyday situations, means I can push elevator buttons with my toe.  You would too, don’t lie!

I have been a photographer since 1995, and an artist since probably before I was born.  Photography is my life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Some of my favorite things:

Hot tea – every morning

Dark chocolate – whenever I am stressed

The beach – not nearly often enough

Rides with my horse – any chance I get

Hugs from my puppy – every morning before tea, and anytime he asks!

If I could be any animal in the world:  I would be a dragon.  Fire, flying, overall awesomeness.  Are there vegetarian dragons?
